NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation is still clueless about Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death two years ago in his Mumbai residence.

The actor was found dead on June 14, 2020. The CBI refuse to share any information about his death in an RTI query, claiming that the case is in the process of investigation and information about the progress may impedethe process. Information requested cannot be privided, the CBI said in its reply.

Sushant Singh Rajput was last seen in ‘Dil Bechara’ alongside Sanjana Sanghi who made her debut with the film. The film was released posthumously a month after Sushant’s death. The actor is survived by four sisters and his father.

Several theories around the cause of death had been in circulation. Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was also accused of misappropriating his wealth and abetting his suicide by the deceased’s family. Later, the Narcotics Control Bureau( NCB) also registered a case against Chakraborty wherein she was accused of a ‘drug angle’ that led to Sushant’s death.

She was also granted bail when the HC found no substantial evidence to support the claim. However, NCB had challenged HC’s bail before the Supreme Court. The entire trial became a subject of intense media scrutiny and online trolling wherein Rhea was targeted. Many also came out in support of her and appealed to all to stop this ‘witch hunt’.
