NOTES INVALID IF SCRIBBLED WITH POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS SLOGANS

NEW DELHI: As part of th clean note policy, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has declared the currency notes scribble with political slogans or religious message as invalid. They will also seize to be the legal tender in the market.

Even anything scribbled on the notes for creating social enmity will render the notes as invalid legal tenders. The currency notes with colour or stains, however, be exchanged by the banks, though the banks are told not to put them back in circualtion.

The RBI has also asked the banks to exchange the note that are accidently torn into two, three pieces or if part of the note is missing.
