NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday told Delhi BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay that his PIL to sack Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik and Delhi minister Satyendra Jain will be listed only after it is cleared by the Chief Justice of India.
Upadhyay has also sought a direction to declare that a minister shall be temporarily barred from holding office after two days of judicial custody. A Bench of Justices C T Ravikumar and Sudhanshu Dhulia told him that the PIL is to be first placed before the CJI.

CONMAN’S JAIL TRANSFER: The Supreme Court on Thursday observed to hear further submissions on a petition by conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar(33) only after compliance of its order seeking names of jails to which he and his wife could be transferred from Tihar Jails here.
He feared threat to him and his wife from the jail staff after a score of the staff members he was bribing for servicing his demands were nabbed. The enforcement directorate opposed his transfer, but another Bench of the top court on June 17 directed the Centre and Delhi Government to respond to his demand.
ED told the court that there is no threat to them since police personnel from Tamil Nadu Special Police Force are now deployed for their security.
Sukesh Chandrasekhar, a conman, is lodged in Tihar jail on charges of money laundering and duping several people. A number of Bollywood actresses and models have also been questioned in this 2021 case by the ED for their alleged links to Chandrasekhar.
