NEW DELHI: A confidential document prepared by the BJP headquarters here projects the party winning a clear majority in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections though with lesser number of 325 seats it had won last time in 2017.
A caste-based political affinity model used by it for the projections show that the party is winning 255 seats in the 403-seat Assembly. The model is based on the political affinity of the castes.
The document has been circulated to the media channels in a bid to influence the opinion polls they are to let out after 6 PM on Monday. However, the reality will be known only on Thursday when the official counting of votes takes place.
