SC SHUTS CASE AGAINST ZOOM APP

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday closed a 2020 petition for ban on Zoom video conferencing app after ots senior advocate Arvind Datar said the specialist panel of the Information Technology Ministry had approved it back in December 2020.

The petition by one Harsh Chugh of Delhi on May 22, 2020 had claimed that the App use may result in leak of the personal data. After hearing Datar for some time, a bench of Justices Sanjeev Khanna and M M Sundaresh decided to close the case.
