US RELAXES COVID TRAVEL RATING FOR INDIA

NEW DELHI: The United States has eased Covid-19 restrictions for those travelling to India, advising tourists to wear masks even as Health Ministry reported 1259 fresh Covid-19 cases in India and 35 fatalities in 24 hours.

The health ministry has also removed all restrictions in the country, except for wearing the masks.

As many as 21 of the fatalities relate to those on previous days in Kerala, which recorded 4 deaths on Tuesday. Haryana also reported 4 deaths while Mizoram had 3 fatalities, followed by 1 each in Punjab, Odisha and Karnataka. The deaths so far in the country reached 5,21,070.

The nationwide vaccination reached 183.53 crore, including 25.92 lakh vaccines administered in the last one day.

Active caseload at 15,378 stands at 0.04% of the total infections while the recovery rate is currently at 98.75%. The total recoveries stand at 4,24,85,534 and 1,705 in the last 24 hours. Daily positivity rate stands at 0.22% and weekly ratre 0.25%.

As many as 5,77,559 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours while the total tests conducted so far stand at 78.79 crore.
