1233 FRESH COVID CASES, 31 DEATHS IN 24 HOURS

NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday recorded 1233 fresh Covid-19 cases nd 31 deaths in the past 24 hours ending at 8 AM while the active caseload dipped to 14,704.

The total fatalities in the country stood at 5,21,101 while the recoveries so far reached 4,24,87,410. Kerala recorded the highest 6 fresh cases in 24 hours, followed by 4 in Haryana and 1 each in Rajasthan, Odisha, Nagaland and Tripura.

The nationwide vaccination touched 183.82 crore that included 26.34 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the past 24 hours.

Active cases now stand at 0.03% of the total cases, while the recovery rate is 98.75%. Daily positivity rate is 0.20% and weekly rate 0.25%.

Meanwhile, the government disclosed in the Rajya Sabha that India has one of the “lowest” 374 Covid-19 deaths per million population, according to the World Health Organisation, compared to similarly affected countries like the USA, Brazil, Russia and Mexico.
