NEW DELHI: Congress general secretary and Karnataka in-charge R S Surjewala on Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of a conspiracy to kill Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and his entire family, including his wife.
He released an audio of the BJP’s Sitapur candidate, full of abuses against Kharge and threatening elimination of the Kharge family. He the frustated BJP leaders are upset at facing a crushing defeat in Karnataka.
“Nothing can be a bigger proof of BJP’s hatred towards Kharge and the people of Karnataka as he rose from the land of Karnataka and reached the political horizon of the country,” Surjewala said. He said the BJP leaders reflect Prime Minister Modi’s concern over the definite defeat of their party in the Assembly elections as he is campaigning in the state on all three last days of electioneering.
