NEW DELHI: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has convened later this week a meeting of the party seniors of the next poll-bound states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram to prepare for the next round of the elections.
The tentative date for the meeting is either May 24 or 26. The incumbent and former state presidents, Congress legislative party leaders, speakers and some select party leaders would attend the meeting to be also attended by Rahul Gandhi and AICC functionaries.
While the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan and Bhupesn Baghel government in Chhattisgarh have already declared a series of social welfare schemes, they will be reviewed in the meeting in the context of the positive response received by the Karnataka Congress from voters to its “five guarantees.”
