NEW DELHI: In yet another reform, Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Thursday announce the launch of a new portal naming it as “SuSwagatam” to enable lawyers, visitors, media, interns and others to register themselves online and get the e-passes to enter the Supreme Court.

As soon as a 5-judge Constitution Bench assembled to hear arguments against abrogation of Article 370, the CJI announced the online facility. He said:”SuSwagatam is a web-based and mobile-friendly application that allows users to register themselves online for e-passed for various purposes such as attending the counrty hearings, meeting the advocates,” the CJI said.

He said the portal was tested as a pilot project since July 25, 2023 with positive feedback from the users. As on August 9, more than 10,000 e-passes have been issued through the portal, he added.

“You do not have to wait in the queue in the morning. All passes are generated online. This facility was made available from Thursday morning,” the CJI said, adding that a video tutorial on how to use the application is also available on the court website.
