NEW DELHI: The Government will give a boost to the 5G telecom services by installing 25,000 towers in the next 500 days at a cost of Rs 26,000.
Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav disclosed this in his valedictory address here on Monday on the last day of the 3-day long “Digital India conference” of the state IT ministers that had been inaugurated by the Prime Minister on October 1.
The IT ministers from 12 states and Union Territories attended the conference. They were from Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telan gana, Uttarkhand, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim and Puducherry.
Minister Vaishnav also announced special assistance of Rs 2,000 crore to the states for capital expenditure in increasing the digital connectivity, important for the digital India to reach every corner of the country.
