NEW DELHI: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday criticised the Modi government on denial of the rail ticket concession to the senior citizens since it does not have Rs 1500 crore for the purpose while citing its largesse for Modi’s capitalist friends.
He tweeted that the government spent Rs 911 crore on advertisements, Rs 8,400 crore on PM’s new aircraft and the tax relief of Rs 1.45 lakh crore a year to the capitalist friends.
“Even bring stars for friends, but starve the public for every penny,” he added. In his tweet in Hindi, he said: Mitron ke liye taare tak tod kar layenge, magar janata ko codi-codi ke liye tarsayenge.”
