NEW DELHI: A 2-day national office-bearers’ meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party ended here on Tuesday with a resolve to make all efforts in 2024 to win 144 Lok Sabha seats it had failed to win so far. In his opening guidance on Monday, Prime Minister Modi stressed on a strong outreach among the voters to blunt an anti-incumbency after two terms at the centre.

BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda asked the gathered leaders to make all efforts to give a third term to Modi as the Prime Minister by strengthening the workers at the boot and mandal level in the constituencies where the party lost last time by a margin of less than 5,000 vote.

The party sources said the meeting was purely related to the organisational tasks to look within on who is lacking where and how to ensure it doesnot harm the BJP seat in the Lok Sabha. The meeting also analysed the preparations for a score of the Assembly elections in 2013, starting with Karnataka.

The meeting ended with a resolve on a call by Nadda to start preparing for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It chalked out the strategy for the next round of elections in the states. It also decided to involve the new entrants from other parties in taking up the organisational roles, the party leaders said.
