NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Thursday filed a 550-page cancellation report in the Patiala House court here on completion of the inquiry into the POCSO case, claiming that its investigation is based on the minor girl and her father’s statement.

The sports ministry had formed an internal committee in Januaary that gave report in March, which was rejected by the women wrestlers. After the Supreme Court’s intervention, Delhi Police registered the POCSO case againt Brijbhushan Sharan Singh.

The wrestlers had moved a magisterial court in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue District seeking registration of a first information report (FIR) against Singh.

The police has filed a chargesheet for offences under Sections  354 (outraging modesty), 354A (sexually coloured remarks), 354D (stalking) and 506 (1) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Special Public Prosecutor Atul Shrivastava said.

However, he said in view of a minor wrestler withdrawing the allegations against Singh, the police filed a cancellation report in the cases filed for offences under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act).
