NEW DELHI: Congress social media chairperson Supriya Shrinate on Thursday slammed PM Modi for might of his government against a minor athlete to save a UP ‘Bahubali” Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, chief of the Wrestling Federation of India and a BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh for the electoral benefit.
She told a press conference here that just a little while ago, Delhi Police filed a 1000-page chargesheet against Brijbhushan, over 500 pages of which are dedicated to a clean chit to him and the whole of POCSO case has been withdrawn.
The law of POCSO says that the moment a case is filed, the supposed perpetrator of that crime has to be arrested, because he should not temper witnesses, he should not intimidate victims. Nothing of that sort happened with the BJP MP, nothing of that sort.
He was at large, absolutely free for 45 long days. He could have done anything. He was giving television interviews calling the medals available for Rs. 15. He was talking about good touch, bad touch. He was talking about, how he has been to teach a lesson to people, not a word from the Prime Minister or the Home Minister of this country.
Shrinate said the man who stands exposed completely before this country is none else but the elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “his silence, complicity and for the patronage he offers to perpetrators of crime.
In reply to a question that the minor girl had withdrawn the charge, she said these sources were none but those sitting in the BJP and the PMO who claimed 15 days ago that there is no case against Brijbhushan. She said the Prime Minister is himself in the know of the charge of sexploitation told to him by wrestler Vinesh Phogat on August 17, 2021 and he had assured that her grievance will be heard and action will take place as a phone call will come from the Sports Ministry. The phone call never came.
Shrinate said the PM was silent on the POCSO complaint sex exploitation. She said there is a pattern or rather a script that whenever there is a crime against women, the BJP will always be found standing with the perpetrator of the crime and never with a girl, beginning with Kuldeep Singh Sengar, Chinmayanand or go to Hathras, Lakhimpur or Uttarakand.
” crime against women means- she is going to alone fight for herself because the government led by Mr. Narendra Modi is going to solidly stand with the perpetrator of that crime and this is no exception either, but, we do hope that the courts of this country are going to take cognizance of this matter.
