NEW DELHI: The Congress on Wednesday called for registration of an FIR against Delhi Police for its personnel’s “patently criminal tresspass” of the AICC headquarters here in the morning and suspend all concerned officials
Condemning an absolute goondaism perpetuated by Delhi Police at the instance of Modi government, its chief spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala told a Press conference that the police forcibly entered the national headquarter of Congress at Delhi, beat up workers and leaders. “The goondaism of Modi government and Delhi Police has reached its zenith.”
He demanded an FIR against all officers of Delhi Police, who have committed a criminal tresspass by forcibly entering headquarter of the Indian National Congress. “We demand their suspension and initiation of a disciplinary inquiry against them.”
“We are protesting peacefully in a Gandhian way, but this goondaism is unacceptable, it will not be tolerated….Let all the police officials, who are acting as puppets of Modi government in order to please their masters, know that this will not be left, not go unpunished. We will remember, and the suitable action, both civil and criminal will be taken.”
He also released the programme of the peaceful “satyagrah” on Thursday. He said the Congree workers will “gherao” all Raj Bhawans across the country to protest against not only the criminal tresspass into the AICC Hq, but also against the design, deception and suppression of voice of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress.
Surjewala also demanded to let the TV cameras be allowed in the ED office and let the Prime Minister and his home minister Amit Shah sit with ED and question Rahul Gandhi. “Let the nation know that BJP, only has fake and false propaganda, adn does not have a single question to ask him.
“What will they ask: Why did you revive the symbol of the national freedom movement, the National Herald and Navjivan newspapers? Yes we revived them.
“What will they ask: Why did you pay Rs 67 crore in salary and VRS of employees and journalists of National Herald? Yes, we did it.
“Why did you pay govt dues, why did you pay electricity dues, why did you pay other govt charges? Yes, we deposited those, because National Herald, Qaumi Awaz and Navjivan are symbols of our freedom movement and the Constitution of India says: It is imperative to preserve the voice of freedom movement. We have honoured out constitutional obligation by reviving National Hera;d. Qaumi Awaz and Navjivan and we owe it up.”
Surjewala said the Congress challenges the PM and the BJP to send all TV cameras in and you also come and ask questions as we are ready to answer.
In reply to a question, he said the ED had closed the case in 2015 on finding no crime committed and the case was revived after seven years only with an ill-will.
