CONG: LIE TO BLAME LATE AHMED PATEL

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Saturday categorically refuted the mischievous charges “manufactured” against its late leader Ahmed Patel, who used to be a close aid of Sonia Gandhi, vilifying him as obviously he is unable and unavailable to refute such brazen lies.

Gujarat Police had on Friday planted news reports that activist Teesta Setalvad now in its custody was instigated by Patel to launch various movements to destabilise then Modi government in the state.

In a statement, Congress general secretary, in charge of communications, Jairam Ramesh dubbed it as a part of the Prime Minister’s systematic strategy to absolve himself of any responsibility for the communal carnage unleashed when he was chief minister of Gujarat in 2002.

He reminded that it was his unwillingness and incapacity to control this carnage that had led the-then Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee to remind the chief minister of his rajdharma.

Nothing surprising since giving judgments through Press in an ongoing judicial process through puppet investigative agencies, who trumpet with allegations as the supposed findings, has been the hallmark of the Modi-Shah duo’s tactics for years, Jairam said.

“The Prime Minister’s political vendetta machine clearly does not even spare the departed who were his political adversaries. This SIT is dancing to the tune of its political master and will sit wherever it is told to,” he said.

Jairam said: “We know how an earlier SIT chief was rewarded with a diplomatic assignment after he had given a ‘clean chit’ to Modi.”
