NEW DELHI: The Congress on Monday announced its 85th plenary AICC session in Raipur, the state capital of Chhattisgarh, from February 24 to 26, in which Mallikarjun Kharge’s election as the new party president to replace Sonia Gandhi will be ratified.
The crucial meeting will finalise the party’s strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the Assembly elections in 10 states.
Congress organising general secretary K C Venugopal said half of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will also be elected in the plenary, while the remaining half are nominated by the Congress President.
Half a dozen resolutions, including those on political situation, economics and agriculture, will be adopted in the session, Venugopal said.
More than 9,000 Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) delegates are likely to attend the party’s plenary session.
