NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate is filing the first chargesheet against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday in Delhi liquor policy scam, naming him as the “kingpin” and “key conspirator” in the case.

In a major breakthrough in the Delhi Excise policy case, the Enforcement Directorate will file its first chargesheet against the jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday formally naming him as an accused in the now-scrapped Liquor Policy.

It is important to note that this will be the first time that Kejriwal will be named as an accused in the excise policy scam.

ED has claimed to have established a money trail linked to Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, a Delhi court extended the Aam Aadmi Party’s convenor’s judicial custody till May 20.

The Supreme Court will deliver its order on granting interim bail to the chief minister on Friday (May 10).

Adding more to his troubles, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed with Rs 1 lakh costs a public interest litigation by a lawyer seeking appropriate arrangements for Kejriwal to run the government from jail.

The AAP leader was arrested on March 21 and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail under judicial custody.
