NEW DELHI: With the ruling coalition in Maharashtra in political turmoil, Congress President appointed former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath to be the party’s observer until the presidential elections the next month.

The Congress remains unaffected from the turmoil that has hit the Shiv Sena, but the leadership is upset at the Congress getting only one seat in the Legislative Council elections on Monday as against the BJP opposition romping home 5 seats.

Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar, who was the kingmaker in the formation of the Shiv Sena-led coalition government of the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA), however, asserted on Tuesday that it will complete its full 5-year term. He also ruled out his NCP going with the BJP in the event of the collapse of the coalition.
