NEW DELHI: The Kashmiri social and human rights activists on Thursday went on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar here, demanding revocation of Article 370, Public Security Act (PSA) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in Jammu and Kashmir.

The protesters urged the Supreme Court of India to hear them and give the status pre-August 5, 2019 to the people of J&K.

“Release all political prisoners who are incarcerated under draconian laws like PSA and UAPA and hold time bound and fair trial to all the prisoners of J&K,” the activists said, adding “it’s our request to the prime institutions of India.”

They said their protest at Jantar Mantar is to highlight the ongoing situation in Kashmir. “We are witnessing a human loss. We condemn all killings and express pain of so-called Naya Kashmir,” they added. Their protest began under the banner of “Save Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.”
