NEW DELHI: Wearing of masks again made mandatory in Delhi and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) reimposed a fine of Rs 500 on the violator.

The decision was taken in the wake of a rise in daily Covid infections in the national capital, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Wednesday.

Delhi is among five states which have been advised by the Centre to take cautions in view of the higher caseload and the higher positivity rate. Other states are Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Mizoram.

DDMA decided to keep the schools open but left it up to the parents to send their wards to schools or not.
