NEW DELHI: The National Board of Examination (NBE) for medical education on Thursday extended the deadline for internship completion from May 31 to July 31 to be eligible for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) for 2022.
It said the new schedule to fill up the NEET-PG 2022 will be notified on February 22. “The NEET-PG 2022 online application form is being updated accordingly and the changes in application form will be effected by 18.02.2022 (3PM onwards),” the NBE notice said.
Declining to interfere in the internship deadline since it’s a “policy domain,” the Supreme Court had asked the medical aspirants on February to better apply to the Centre for extension to complete the internship since they were on the Covid duties in 2021.
The NBE had changed the medical entrance examination, as per the Centre’s advice to May 21 and allowed the aspirants to apply for it till March 25. Even this date will be revised on Friday, in view of the extension of the internship, a pre-qualification to appear in NEET for the PG courses in medical colleges across the country.
