WALKOUT OVER FUEL PRICE HIKE

NEW DELHI: Nine opposition parties, led by the Congress, on Friday walked out of the Lok Sabha in protest of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman refusing to answer to their demand on the fuel price hike despite being present in the House.

The parties which opposed the fuel price hike were Congress, DMK, NCP, CPI, CPI-M, NC, VCK, IUML and KCM.

The Lok Sabha Speaker also rejected a notice of adjournment by Tamil Nadu’s Congress MP Manicka Tagore for a discussion on the continuous hike in the prices of petrol and diesel and sudden increase of the LPG (cooking gas).
