NEW DELHI: The Congress on Tuesday accused the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan looted Rs 94,000 crore from the public. In a post, it said the Congress is now coming to power in the state to remove the corruption.

It revealed an electricity scam of such a big amount by the MP government by paying crores to the power companies without buying any electricity from them.

Its spokesperson Shobha Oza demanded action against those BJP leaders in Madhya Pradesh who are involved in corruption and who are thinking of winning elections on the strength of money.

Oza, a former Mahila Congress President, demanded that Minister Govind Singh Rajput should be immediately dismissed and prevented from contesting elections and his assets should be investigated.

She said CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Jyotiraditya Scindia should also answer in this regard.

Revenue minister Rajput allegedly occupied the land of Mansingh Patel in Sagar district, who lodged complaints with the police in 2016 on threat to his life from the minister. Mansingh had alleged that he was kidnapped by the minister’s gang.

Oza showed a video in which Rajput promised to give the BJP’s poll booth incharges to give them Rs 25 lakh each wherever the BJP gets more votes. She said a similar video from Indore showed declaring to give Rs 51,000 to each incharge of the booth where the Congress gets no votes.

She also welcomed the state election commission for registering an FIR against Rajput after an inquiry into his corrupt practices. She also appealed to the Governor to dismiss Rajput as the minister. She said those bribing for votes should be barred from contesting the elections.
