NEW DELHI: Vijay Darda (72), a former Congress Rajya Sabha member, is tipped to get back in the House on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ticket from Punjab, where biennial elections are being held on June 10 for two vacancies.

He comes from a family of the Congress leaders as his father Jawaharlal Darda and younger brother Rajendra Darda(69) were both the cabinet ministers in the Maharashtra governments.

Vijay Darda is believed to have entered into a deal with AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal to provide support of his Lokmat group of newspapers, the highest circulated daily published from a score of places in Maharashtra, to help AAP make a fast entry in the state in the next elections.
