NEW DELHI: Banks will be closed for 15 days in April, according to a list released by the Reserve Bank of India.
They will be shut for three days at the beginning of the month — On April 1 for annual closing in banks, followed by Gudi Padwa, Ugadi Festival, first day of Nav Ratri and Telugu new year on April 2 in Mumbai, Nagpur, Panjim, Jammu, Srinagar, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Imphal, and weekly holiday on Sunday on April 3.
The banks will be closed in Ranchi on April 4 on account of Sarihul, followed by Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birth anniversary on April 5. There is the next holiday on April 14 on account of Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Tamil New Year, Baisaikhi and Bihu at all places except Shimla and Shillong, followed by April 15 on account of Good Friday, Bengali New Year, at all places except Jaipur and Jammu and Kashmir, followed by April 17 on account of Weekly holiday on Sunday.
The next holiday will be on April 23 on account of fourth Saturday of the month, followed by April 24 on account of the Weekly holiday on Sunday.The last holiday of the month will be on April 29 in Jammu and Kasahmir on account of Shab-e-Kadra/Jumaat-ul-Vida.
