BJP HAS DIFFERENT PLANS FOR POLL-BOUND STATES

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is adopting different poll strategies in three states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgrah going to polls this year.

Days after naming the state in-charges, the party is finalising strategies for the three states.

In Madhya Pradesh, both Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state president V D Sharma are not likely to continue to hold their posts, but along with PM Modi, Chouhan’s face will also be projected, the party sources said.

The decision on who will lead the state if the BJP wins will be taken after the elections. In both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the BJP will focus on wooing back the tribals.

In Chhattisgarh, the BJP will not project a chief ministerial face, but contest the elections in the name of Prime Minister Modi, the sources said.

As regards Rajasthan, the BJP is likely to project a united leadership. The party is yet to project a chief ministerial face. Sources said former CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia will definitely play an important role in the polls.

In all thee states, the BJP is going to focus on wooing women voters and replace a substantial number of sitting MLAs.

These Assembly elections see the direct contest with the Congress and it sees them as semifinal to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
