NEW DELHI: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is ready for formation of his new team, giving the responsibility to the youth and changes of half a dozen state presidents.
A senior party leader said the process of discussions is over and Kharge is making the new team giving representation to all sections and areas in the new team. He was just waiting for the Patna conclave of the opposition parties. The new team will be formed keeping an eye on the Assembly elections in five states, followed by the Lok Sabha elections.
The party sources said the responsibility will be given to the experienced and senior leaders in the states going to the polls. Instead of new leaders given the responsibility who may take time to understand politics in the states, they said Khrge is planning to give posts to the experienced hands.
They said names of half a dozen state presidents have been already finalised and they include Maharashtra, West Bengal and Tamil Ndu, and their names will be out soon.
It is difficult to grant 50% positions to the youth below 50 years, but there will be an increase in the women office-bearers.
