NEW DELHI: India on Friday recorded over 1,000 Covid-19 infections for the third consecutive day clocking in 1,109 cases and 9 fatalities in a day, though the Health Ministry reported 43 deaths on account of 32 reported by Kerala in the previous days.
Maharashtra for the second day reported the highest 6 deaths, followed by 2 in Kerala and 1 in Uttar Pradesh.
The total deaths in the country stood at 5,21,573 while the active caseload dropped to 11,492 and the total recoveries jumped to 4,25,00,00,002, 1213 of them in the past 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate stood at 0.24% and the weekly rate 0.23%. The nationwide vaccination reached 185.38 crore, with 16.80 doses given in the last 24 hours.
