GUJARAT HAS HIGHEST 33 CITIES/TOWNS OUT OF 50 HAVING 5G CONNECTIONS

NEW DELHI: The highest number of 33 cities and towns of Gujarat have 5G mobile connections as against 50 across the country in 13 other states, Minister of State for Communication Devusinh Chauhan disclosed in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

The 5G service providers are required to provide the 5G services in a period of five years in a phased manner.

Three cities of Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune are covered by 5G in Maharashtra, while West Bengal has 5G in Kolkata and Siliguri, Uttar Pradesh two cities of Lucknow and Varanasi, and one each in Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Guwahati, Panipat in Haryana, Kochi, Patna, and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

The Gujarat cities and towns covered by 5G are Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Mehsana, Amreli, Botad, Junagarh, Porbandar, Veraval, Himatnagar, Modasa, Palanpur, Patan, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Khambhalia, Morvi, Wadhwan, Bharuch, AHWA, Navsari, Valsad, Rajpipla, Vyara, Anand, Chhota Udaipur, Dahod, Godhra, Nadiad, and Lunawada.
