NEW DELHI: The Home Ministry’s security clearance is made mandatory to appear in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) for those securing medical or dentistry degree or diploma from Pakistan after December 2018.
Notifications to that effect were issued on Monday by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Dental Council of India (DCI). One can not practice as a doctor or as a dentist in India without clearing FMGE.
The candidates will be barred from appearing in FMGE or seek employment in India on the basis of their educational qualification obtained in Pakistan after 2018.
