I-T RAID ON 50-YEAR OLD TOP THINK TANK

NEW DELHI: The Centre for Policy Research (CPR), a Delhi-based independent think tank critical of the Modi government’s numerous decision, on Wednesday came under a raid by the Income Tax Department to probe its receipt of the foreign donations.

It is a 50-year old leading public policy think tank functioning in the national capital since 1973. Its website says CPR is a non-profit, non-partisan and independent institution, dedicated to conduct research that contributes to high quality scholarship, better policies and a robust public discourse on issues impacting life in India.

The raids are linked with the raids by the Income Tax department on the registered but unrecognised political parties in seven states.
