INDIA REPORTS OVER 20,000 NEW COVID-19 CASES AFTER 145 DAYS

NEW DELHI: The daily Covid-19 cases in India were recorded over 20,000 after a gap of 145 days. A total of 20,139 cases were registered on Thursday as against 16,906.

There were 22 Covid-19-related deaths on Saturday, the highest 10 in Maharashtra, followed by 4 in West Bengal and 3 in Delhi. Goa, Assam, Bihar, UP and Uttarakhand reported one death each. Reconciling 16 previous deaths, the Health Ministry put the death toll at 38.

Altogether 5,25,557 people have succumbed to death so far while 4,30,28,356 made the recovery. The active caseload zoomed further to 1,36,076. The nationwide vaccination inched further to 119.27 crore, with 13.44 lakh vaccine doses administered in the past 24 hours.
