NADDA RELEASES BJP MANIFESTO FOR KARNATAKA

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday released the party’s manifesto as a “vision documeent” for the Karnataka Assembly elections slated on May 10.

He sought votes for a double engine government of the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, promising “delivery best, without waste” and move the state towards economic and sicial justice while the Congress is a trouble engine, appeasing certain sections of society to consolidate the vote banks.

The manifesto is focused on six themes: Food Security, Quality Education, Affordable and Accessible Healthcare, Assured Income Support, Social Justice for All and Development, Prosperity for All.

The document promises three free cooking gas cylinders to all BPL families, one each during the months of Yugadi, Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali. Other promises made by thee BJP are:

— Atal Aahara Kendra in every municipal ward to provide affordable, quality and healthy food;

— Implement the Uniform Civil Code in Karnataka, based on a high-level panel’s re[port;

— Make Karnataka a $1 Trillion Dollar Economy by 2030 which will generate approximately 75 lakh direct and indirect jobs;

— 5-year fixed deposit of Rs 10,000 to SC and ST women;

— Set up a 230,000 crore K-Agri Fund to establish micro-cold storage facilities, agro processing units in all GPS and establish 5 new Agro-Industry clusters and 3 new Food Processing Parks; and

— Strengthen the public healthcare infrastructure in the state through ‘Mission Swasthya Karnataka’ by establishing one Namma clinic, equipped with diagnostic facilities, in every ward of municipal corporations.
