NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has asked SEBI to complete its probe by August 14 into the alleged stock price manipulation by the Adani Group as revealed by Hidenburg.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for SEBI, told a Bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud that the investigation was going on with possible “legitimate speed.”
He told the Bench, also comprising Justices PS Narasimha and Manoj Mishra that the SEBI had filed on Monday their contructive response on the suggestions made by the court-appointed expert committee in its report filed in the court.
“We received the report of the Expert committee. So far as the references maade on SEBI are concerned, there is some guidance or some suggetions given. Our response t it are very contructive….Since it was filed a little late, it is not before your lordship,” Mehta said.
The Bench told him: “Your investigation hs to be concluded becaue we haad extended tim till August 14.”
