NEW DELHI: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday issued an appeal to the youth agitating against “Agnipath” to ensure it is peaceful and non-violent, assuring them that the Congress is with them to raise voice and struggle for withdrawal of the new Army recruitment scheme.
She described the scheme as directionless, a reason why many ex-servicemen and defence experts have raised questions about it. She said the Congress understands the youths’ desire to serve the nation and their pain for no recruitment in the past three years.
