NEW DELHI: Thiruvananthapuram Congress MP Shashi Tharoor (66) denied his withdrawal from the Congress Presidential race on Saturday, the last day for withdrawals, asserting in a video message that it is all rumours from “sources in Delhi.”

In a video message, both in Hindi and English, he said: “Let me assure you that I don’t withdraw from a challenge. Never have I in all my life and never will. This is a struggle, a friendly contest, within the party, but a fight to the finish. And, I am here to stay the course.”

Tharoor knows that he is fighting a losing battle as most of the senior Congress leaders stay away from his meetings wherever he goes to campaign. He knows that the Gandhis are siding with his rival Mallikarjun Kharge (80) without openly seeking votes for him.
