NEW DELHI: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday regretted crores spent by Prime Minister Modi on advertisements and hoardings across the country on the Ujjavala Scheme launched in May 2016 to provide the cooking gas cylinder to every family and then launched Ujjavala 2.0 to spend crores on the advertisements.

The gas cylinder’s price, however, increased to Rs 1,000 that made impossible for 3.59 crore women to buy the gas and go back to the traditional cooking with wood in a year between 2021 and 2022, he said, quoting a government’s RTI reply.

Didn’t I say that the Prime Minister has made two Indias, one for the riches and another for the poor, Rahul asked.
