NEW DELHI: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday came out with a 10-point “guarantee card” in the BJP-ruled Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections after eliciting views from the Himachalis across the villages.
In a tweet and Facebook post, he said the Congress fulfilled the promises it gave in the Congress-ruled Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and the party holds the same commitment in Himchal Pradesh if elected to power in the state.
The guarantee card promises:
1. Reviving old pension scheme;
2. Rs 1500 per month to women;
3. Free 300 units of electricity;
4. 5 lakh jobs;
5. Right prices for crops and fruits;
6. A start-up fund of Rs 680 crore for youths to start own ventures;
7. Mobile clinic;
8. English medium schools;
9. Buying 10 litres of milk from each cattle owner; and
10. Buy ‘Gobar’ (cow dung) at Rs 2 per kg.
