NEW DELHI: India on Monday recorded 17,073 new Covid-19 infections in a single day, a 45% jump over the previous day and the second highest in June after17,336 recorded last Friday.
NEW DELHI: India on Monday recorded 17,073 new Covid-19 infections in a single day, a 45% jump over the previous day and the second highest in June after17,336 recorded last Friday.
The daily deaths in 24 hours also shot up to 15. Maharashtra tops with 5 deaths, followed by 4 in Delhi, 2 each in Goa and Punjab and 1 each in J&K and West Bengal. The Health Ministry put the death toll in a single day at 21, reconciling 6 previous deaths in Kerala.
Covid-19 has so far taken the toll of 5,25,020 people while 4,27,87,606 recovered, 15,206 in 24 hours. The active cases zoomed to 94,420.
The nationwide vaccination reached 197.11 crore on Monday, with 2.49 lakh doses imparted in 24 hours.
