NEW DELHI: India on Thursday recorded 18,819 Covid-19 infections, the highest in the past 4 months, while the related deaths in the month of June peaked to 22.
Maharashtra recorded 7 deaths in 24 hours, foollowed by 4 in UP, 3 in Punjab, 2 each in Haryana, Karnataka, West Bengal and 1 each in Delhi and Sikkim. The Health Ministry put the daily deaths to 39, accounting for reconciling 17 past deaths.
The active caseload also crossed 1 lakh-mark, reporting 1,04,555 cases while 5,25,116 people have succumbed to death due to Covid-19 so far and 4,28,22,493 have recovered.
The cumulative vaccination reached 197.61 crore, with 14.17 lakh doses given in 24 hours.
