NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday reported 90% jump in the Covid-19 infections as the Health Ministry reported 2,067 cases as against 1,247 a day earlier, while the fatalities increased to 8 from 1 on the previous day.
Maharashtra reported 3 deaths in 24 hours, Kerala 2 and UP, Mizoram and Nagaland 1 each. Kerala also accounted for 32 more deaths in the past that were not reported earlier.
The active Covid-19 cases also went up to 12,340 while 1,547 recoveries in the last 24 hours increased the total recoveries to 4,25,13,248.
The nationwide vaccination reached 186.90 crore, with 17.23 lakh administered the vaccines in 24 hours, and the total tests conducted so far reached 83.29 crore, with 4,21,183 tested in 24 hours. The daily positivity rate went up to 0.49% and the weekly rate 0.38%.
