A SENSE OF INSECURITY DISPLAYED IN Z CATEGORY SECURITY COVER TO CDS

NEW DELHI: The second highest Z category security bestowed upon Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan betrays a sense of security to the securities in India as a person enjoying the highest military security.

The Army generals say the none of the military personal ever desires such a security, the second highest in India after the Z+ security as they said it may trigger the risk of a clash between the Army personnel and the police commandos guarding Chauhan. They said the clash is obvious when two commands handle such a security.

The four-star General Chauhan took charge as the country’s senior-most military commander last Friday over nine months after the first CDS General Bipin Rawat died in a helicopter crash. The government has provided him the security cover of Delhi Police, despite having the security of the military police.

He became the first retired 3-star Lt General rank officer to return to the services with a mandate to implement an ambitious theaterisation plan ained to ensure tri-services synergy and prepared the three Armed Forces for future security challenges facing the nation.

Gen Chauhan will also be the Principal Military Advisor to the Defence Minister on all tri-service matters as well as head of the department of military affairs as its secretary.

He will also be the Permanent Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC), the defence ministry said.
