ASSEMBLY BYPOLLS FOR 7 SEATS IN SIX STATES

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Monday announced the Assembly bye-elections on November 3 for seven seats in six states, including one in Maharashtra for the Andheri East seat in Mumbai, and the results will be out on November 6, which is the date fixed for the counting.

The bypolls are for two vacant seats in Bihar and one each in Odisha, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The last date for nomination in all seven bypolls is October 14 as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission.

The stage is set for the first face-off between Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and former CM Uddhav Thackeray after the Shiv Sena split.
