NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday recorded 2,927 fresh Covid-19 infections in 24 hours up to 8 AM, 17% more than the previous day, pushing up the tally of the total cases in the country to 4,30,66,496, with 5,23,654 deaths so far.
The Covid-19 fatalities in 24 hours stood at 6, out of which 4 were in Maharashtra and 1 each in Delhi and Mizoram while Kerala reported 26 other deaths recorded on the previous days.
The active cases increased by 643 to record 17,279 cases so far while the recoveries of 2,252 in 24 hours pushed up the total recoveries to 4,25,25,563. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.58 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.59 per cent.
The nationwide vaccination stood at 188.19 crore, with 21.97 lakh doses added in 24 hours.
