NEW DELHI: Did Prime Minister Narendra Modi put his wife Yashodaben under house arrest to prevent her from attending the funeral of his mother Heerabai in Ahmedabad, a media report suggests.
Upset on her mother-in-law’s death, she prepared to attend her funeral along wth her brothers and nephews, the Gujarat police surrounded her house and told her that it has orders from the top not to allow her to leave the house.
Narendra Modi’s brother Ashok called the media and let Yashodaben narrate her pain at denial of her visit to attend the funeral. A local TV channel reported the incident wondering why this kind of conduct by the Prime Minister with his wife. The truth of the incident, however, could not be verified.
