NEW DELHI: The Congress on Monday sought resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for his irresponsible act that led to the broadday light murder of prominent Singer Sidhu Moosa Wala, who ws a promising leader and a rising talent in the party. In a tweet, the Congress said the AAP chief minister committed two crimes: First reduced the security of 424 individuals without proper scrutiny and second their names were made public, an open invitation to the killers to bump them off. “AAP has betrayed Punjab and failed the people of Punjab completely. Only thing left to do now is #ResignBhagwantMann. If safety can’t be assured to a leader and an artist admired by millions, what can the common citizens of the state expect from the AAP govt,” the Congress asked. Another Congress tweet says Rahul Gandhi warned about the importance of peace in Punjab since the start. “Unfortunately, the AAP has neither the experience nor the sensitivity to understand the ground reality of this border state.” He is the same Mann who vowed not to let any farmer die in Punjab again, but a large number of farmers committed suicide, 14 of them in April again and that is why the farmers are up in arms against the AAP government, the Congress tweeted.
