NEW DELHI: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday announced that the next opposition meeting will be held in Bengaluru on July 13 and 14. The NCP chief also asserted that Prime Minister Narendra PM Modi has become restless after the meeting of the opposition parties in Patna.

Earlier, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had announced that the next meeting of opposition leaders would be held in Shimla in Himachal Pradesh on July 10 or 12. But now, they have decided to meet in Bengaluru instead on July 13 and 14.

Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukku has conveyed to the party leadership that it may be difficult to hold the meeting in Shimla because of inclement weather due to heavy rains, landslides and the regular flights to the state capital may also be disrupted making all reach Shimla on time.

The Congress strategists wanted it held in Jaipur to gain in the Assembly elections, but the final decision was taken on Bengaluru. The dates were fixed to accommodate West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee who is not available for 10 days after July 14. It was also noted that the monsoon session of Parliament is planned in the third week of July that may make difficult to the party leaders to attend the conclave.
