NEW DELHI: With the Supreme Court granting the SEBI time till August 14 to complete its probe into the stock price manipulation by the Adani Group, the Congress on Wednesday said the apex court-supervised probe is limited to violation of the security laws and only a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) can unravel the whole truth.
The party welcomed the top court ordering that the report of the expert panel headed by former judge Justice A M Sapre be given to the petitionrs to enable them to assisst the court in the matter.
Its general secretary Jairam Ramesh said the Congress has been repeatedly asserting that only a JPC can unrvel the whole truth about the Adani scam, the nature and extent of the unprecdented quid pro quo and the way the rules were tweaked and policies change to favour Adani’s domestic acquisitions.
He tweeted: “Modani scam is a PPP with a twisst, a true political-private partnership that only Parliament’s JPC can fully unravel. Jairam repeatedly used the word “Modani” to imply the relationship of Prime Minister Modi and Adani.
